Does it sound to you that maybe mord fustang has sampled wolfgang's kick and limited it a bit harder? And how could one use compression to achieve the sound and shape of a kick drum similar to this. I know Wolfgang uses Distressors to compress some of the elements of his tracks but Mord Fustang I belive is all ITB. I also remember him saying he uses Parallel compression on his drums. I believe the low end of the kicks are from an analog synth combined with a real kick drum sample (I remember wolfgang saying most of his low end material comes out of an Analog synth *edit. So heres my question and maybe someone can enlighten me further. I found several but none are quite like either of these. Ive dug through a plethora of sample packs just listening to the low end to find some sort of similar sound. Thumps you right in the chest and rumbles the floor like no other kick ive heard. Anyways after hearing both of these in a club several times I've found it to be my favorite type of kick. I believe the WG kick tuned below the Mord Fustang kick.

The low end and knock parts of the kick are almost completely the same. The fundamental of both kicks is right around 45hz. If you listen to each separately Ive noticed many many similarities. It is along the lines of the famous 'how do you get this sound' question, however I want to delve into the more technical side of how the tools (especially compression) are used to assist in the creation of this drum hit. my first post here on the site is directed at a question that has been looming over my head since the first day I opened my DAW. The wealth of knowledge provided by the users of this site has been one of the most learning tools Ive encountered! So thank you guys! Anyways. After about a year of producing I've finally decided to join the ranks.
